Happy new year!
Congratulations to all those who got engaged over the festive period! What a lovely start to what will hopefully be a better year this year.
So many couples have had to postpone their special day, more than once now for most of you. I can’t imagine how frustrating and upsetting that must be for you all. Now that so many couples have postponed their big day the next few years are looking to be extremely busy for the wedding industry. So, how can you plan your wedding during a pandemic?!
One of the most important things for starting off your planning is to choose your venue. Once you have your venue picked you will then get an idea of the style of wedding you want. So many venues are now doing virtual tours so they can still show you what they have to offer. You will also find many other suppliers are showing off their skills via Instagram, Facebook and some are uploading videos and even live streaming. ( I am yet to be brave enough to do any live streaming but I am trying to upload more and more images and videos of ‘real brides’) It’s a great way to show off our work but also, now there are no wedding fairs to go to, it’s one of the only way to see a suppliers work. There are lots and lots of wedding directory sites to look through and online bridal magazines to show you the best of what’s to offer in different areas.
One piece of advice I would give to couples that are planning their wedding is once you have chosen your wedding date secure all your main suppliers as soon as you can. Especially as there are still many weddings being postponed, which will mean there is a lot more demand on these suppliers, especially for the popular weekend dates!
Here is a list of some popular directories and magazines that might just help you with your planning.
Good luck!
